The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao — Violin Teachers
Applications to this full-time position are now open for violin teachers worldwide
Created in 2022, the Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao (YMSQ) is a K12 full-time academic credential school with a specialist music program.
As the sole authorized branch of The Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK, YMSQ delivers Western classical music education with specialist tuition in strings, piano, wind instruments, and singing.
The school comprises around 120 students — all of which are Chinese young musicians; in the coming years, admissions will expand to accept students from East and South-East Asia.
New violin teachers will join the school’s strategic plan to have 320 students by 2024 (the school has capacity for 850 students). Current violin teachers include Lu Siqing, Wang Hong, Vicki Hsu, and He Shucong.
Successful candidates will be provided accommodation on campus, meals, international medical insurance; paid summer and winter vacation; annual round-trip international flights, plus work-permits and visas organized by YMSQ.
Teachers will deliver one-to-one lessons at a high standard to prepare students for concerts, competitions, exams, and auditions for international colleges and conservatories.
The minimum requirement is a master's degree and two years of teaching experience. Notable performance experience as a soloist, in chamber music, or with a professional orchestra is also expected.
To apply, a cover letter and completed application form must be submitted alongside links to recent performances and those of any students.
