In celebration of the school's history and commitment to musical education, the Menuhin School in collaboration with Orchid Classics, has released its debut album, Around the World in 80 Minutes. The album features international composers including Elgar, Bartok, Florence Price, Gershwin, and more.
Around the World in 80 Minutes presents a celebration of music as a universal language and draws inspiration from the diverse backgrounds of its students. The album opens with Elgar's Chanson de Matin in England which was orchestrated by William Henry Reed, and continues throughout Europe, to Asia, Australia, Africa, the Americas, and rounds out back in Europe with the traditional Irish folk tune "Danny Boy" arranged by a Menuhin School student.
