American violinist David Nadien was born on this day in 1926

American violinist David Nadien was born on this day in 1926.

A student of Adolfo Betti, Ivan Galamian and Adolph Busch, Mr Nadien was a former Concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic - and served a long-term teaching position on faculty at the Mannes College of Music.

Passing away in 2014, aged 88, he will be remembered for his pure, silk-like tone and unparalleled sight-reading abilities.
