Orfeo Records has announced the release of German cellist Daniel Müller-Schott's new album: Trip to Russia - Tchaikovsky, Glazunov, Rimsky-Korsakov.
Recorded with Uzbekistani conductor Aziz Shokhakimov and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the disc features Tchaikovsky's Pezzo Capriccioso, Souvenir d'un lieu cher (Arr. Cello), Variations on a Rococo Theme, Andante Cantabile and Nocturne Op. 19, Glazunov's Zwei Stucke and Chant du menestrel and Rimsky-Kosakov's Serenade.
"This disc is my own personal dedication to the Russian repertoire ..." Daniel has told The Violin Channel.
"The disc represents the romantic era of the cello and illuminates the close friendship of the three great Russian composers ... and shows how they each inspired each other to great things and jointly renewed the great Russian-romantic tradition after Michael Glinka," he has said.
