In this the third episode of 'Lockdown Commissions', Lawrence Power performs the world premiere of: 'Objets Trouvés for Solo Viola and Drone' by Esa-Pekka Salonen

British violist Lawrence Power has this month announced the launch of his new viola  project entitled: 'Lockdown Commissions' – whereby he will perform ten newly-commissioned short works for solo viola on the rooftops of iconic London music venues.

In this the third episode, Lawrence performs the world premiere of: 'Objets Trouvés for Solo Viola and Drone' by acclaimed contemporary composer, Esa-Pekka Salonen.

"I am thrilled to present this wonderful new work by Esa-Pekka Salonen as part 3 of my ongoing Lockdown Commissions series ..." Lawrence has this week told The Violin Channel.

"The idea of ‘Objets Trouvés’ is a fascinating departure point for the work - the idea of seemingly ordinary, everyday objects taking on an artistic (in this case musical) importance. The work is for Solo Viola with Drone and it’s the friction between these two elements which makes the work a fascinating experience on film," he has said.
