SAD NEWS | Detroit Symphony Stalwart Maxim Janowsky Passes Away


American Double Bassist Maxim Janowsky has passed, away after a long illness - aged 70

Mr Janowsky served with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for 49 years - and held teaching positions at the Wayne State University and Oakland University

A student of Fred Zimmerman and George Moleux, Mr Janowsky joined the DSO in 1964 and served under six Music Directors – including Sixten Ehrling, Antal Dorati, Neeme Jarvi and Leonard Slatkin
