Miró Quartet to Perform All 16 Beethoven Quartets in Five Days
The quartet has played the Beethoven cycle around the world and recorded the works on the Pentatone label
The Austin-based Miró Quartet is set to perform Fort Worth's first-ever complete Beethoven quartet cycle. The series will run between November 7 and 13, at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and is presented by the Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth (CMSFW).
The quartet has already performed the complete Beethoven cycle at multiple venues around the world — including at Chamber Music Northwest, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Chamber Music Tulsa, and the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival.
Prior to each upcoming performance in November, audience members will get the opportunity to hear pre-concert talks by Bill McGlaughlin, who hosts the WFMT program Exploring Music.
Tickets cost $35 per concert and are available directly from CMSFW's website.
"This is a rare opportunity to enjoy Beethoven’s entire string quartet cycle performed in one place at one time,” said CMSFW president Michael Francis. “We expect to welcome music lovers across the Metroplex and country.”
