The Violin Channel recently caught up with acclaimed Swedish cellist and cello pedagogue Mr Frans Helmerson.

We sat him down for a fun game of VC 20 Questions – to help gain some fascinating insight into the man behind the music.

A student of Guido Vecchi, Guiseppe Selmi and William Pleeth, Professor Frans Helmerson is a former 1st prize winner at the Cassado International Cello Competition | Widely respected as one of the finest string pedagogues alive today, he serves teaching position on faculty at the Cologne University of Music, Escuela Superior Musica Reina Sofia, Berlin's 'Hanns Eisler' University of Music and the Kronberg Academy | His famed students include VC Artists Kian Soltani, Edgar Moreau, Jonathan Roozeman, Benedict Kloeckner, Pablo Ferrandez, Aurelien Pascal and Ivan Karizna
