London's Young Classical Artists Trust Announces Three 2018 1st Prize Winners

The Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT), in London, has announced three 1st prize winners - including Albanian-Greek violinist Jonian-Ilias Kadesha

The Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT), in London, has today announced three 1st prize winners - including Albanian-Greek violinist Jonian-Ilias Kadesha.

The 2018 YCAT 1st prize winners are:

  • 25-year-old violinist Jonian-Ilias Kadesha from Albania/Greece
  • 26-year-old pianist Giuseppe Guarrera from Italy
  • 26-year-old recorder player Tabea Debus from Germany

All three young musicians will join the YCAT roster – granting access to management services, career engagements, publicity and career guidance.

A graduate of the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler and current student of the Kronberg Academy, Jonian is a former prize winner at the Leopold Mozart Violin Competition, Haydn Chamber Music Competition and the Windsor International String Competition.

A graduate of the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler and current student of the Barenboim-Said Academy, Giuseppe is a former major prize winner at the Montreal and James Mottram International Piano Competitions.

A graduate of the Frankfurt University of Music and London's Royal Academy of Music, Tabea has performed in international concert halls including the Konzerthaus Vienna, Tonhalle Zürich and Wigmore Hall.

Previous YCAT alumni include: violist VC Young Artist Timothy Ridout, violinist Benjamin Baker, cellist Li-Wei Qin, trumpeter Alison Balson – and the Belcea, Castalian and Heath String Quartets.
